Hello everyone,
I know it's been quite awhile since I last posted. I Don't think thats a good thing, but I really needed to take a break and figure some things out.
Since my last post I've been looking at some other methods of training, particularly Carolyn Resnick's method. I find her way with horses to be very profound and natural and something that I want to learn. I've been working on the waterhole rituals(which is basics of her method) and it has been a neat experience, however Gingy's extreme dominance has finally become more clear to me and that has been a tough thing to work with. I'm just not sure exactly what I need to do with him.
Another big change that has come rather unexpectedly in my journey is that I will probably be giving Marsan to another horse lover because I'm getting to big for her :( In a way I am relieved since it has been quite stressfull at times to have two rather different horses. If I go through with giving Marsan away I will be faced with an even bigger challeng. I have the opportunity to get Gingy trained at a place that is within walking distance of our house, meaning I could come over pretty much everyday to see how he was progressing. This to me is the only situation that would be acceptable for Gingy because I want to be as much a part of his learning to be ridden as possible. I like this trainer a lot and have seen him send home a lot of nicely trained young horses, plus I know he has an honest desire to keep me a part of what is going on from start to end. The other option I have is to not get Gingy trained yet and just look for another horse that would be very good on trails and be something I wouldn't grow out of. So I definitely need prayers as I try to figure all of this out.
I'm planning to create a new blog soon so keep a lookout for it.
